In an interview, Manoj Bajpayee said that he was a fan of Amitabh Bachchan. Manoj told about himself, 'I am the son of a farmer and grew up in a village in Bihar with my 5 siblings.

We used to go to a slum school. We lived a simple life, but when we came to the city, we started going to the theater.

Thinking that he could not afford the dream, Manoj continued his studies. After doing theater in Delhi University, he again wished to fulfill his dreams.

He was 17 then. He said, 'My family did not know about this. Finally, one day I wrote a letter to my father and told him all the things in my mind, but he did not get angry and instead sent me 200 rupees for his fee.

Manoj Bhojpuri used to speak well but had to work hard to speak Hindi and English. He told that despite constant struggle and hard work, he was getting failures and due to this he was getting away from his dream. Manoj told that he was rejected three times from NSD.

My dreams were falling apart and I could see a way out, but my friends saved me. My friends used to sleep next to me and did not leave me alone. They kept sticking with me till I got admission in NSD.

Manoj told that in the same year Tigmanshu Dhulia and Shekhar Kapoor approached me to come and work in Mumbai.

I remember the day when I was sitting at the tea shop and Tigmanshu came looking for me on his Khatara scooter and told that Shekhar Kapoor had called him to Mumbai to cast him in Bandit Queen.

Manoj also tells about his Mumbai Struggle that he had hired a chawl with five friends, but he was not getting work. Referring to his failures, he told that in the initial days, he was shown the way out in the first shot once and in three days he was out of the project.

Manoj says that he used to struggle constantly to pay the rent of the chawl. At that time, the price of Vada Pav had also increased, but his hunger for success was more than his stomach hunger, so he did not let him die.

Manoj told that the stability in his life came for the first time when Mahesh Bhatt gave him a role in a TV series after 4 years of struggle. Then I got 1500 rupees per episode.

This serial got the attention of people on my work and I was offered my first Bollywood film. Soon after that I got my big break. After 'Satya' came the time in his life when he was seen with awards. Only after this Manoj bought his first house.
